Join BTWBTL for "When Redemption Isn't Enough", led by Founder Felicia. Notions of punishment for people who commit crimes and redemption after punishment for those crimes will be challenged and explored.
the series. is a monthly gathering of thematic performances and workshops designed to give voice to the lived experiences of people impacted by the criminal justice system. The performances will use spoken word as the main medium, but also include a variety of other art forms such as vocals, interpretive dance, live painting and multi-media visual arts. Simultaneously, artists will take turns co-facilitating monthly workshops with smaller audiences. These interactive sessions will provide a safe space for participants to process the topics being unpacked and learn how to use spoken word as a tool of personal expression and empowerment.
the series. will be hosted at Bailey's Cafe, 324 Malcolm X Blvd. Brooklyn, NY 11233, every 3rd Tuesday of the month. Admission will vary.
