Imagining a new reality...

Visionary (a): (especially of a person) thinking about or planning the future with imagination or wisdom. (n): a person with original ideas about what the future will or could be like.

Growing up, Felicia often dreamt of being the CEO of her own business, but never knew what the business would be. As she grew older and began to acknowledge the power of her voice, she finally understood. Witnessing the injustices of the criminal justice system toward Black and Brown people, she realized that she needed speak up; thus, Behind the Walls, Between the Lines (BTWBTL) was birthed. BTWBTL is a movement to deepen the awareness of the legacy of racial inequity in America, particularly within the criminal justice system, and inspire activism aimed at its dismantlement. BTWBTL uses spoken word and other artistic mediums as a platform to tell stories, reclaim narratives, and activate the power of those directly impacted to catalyze change. BTWTBTL fosters “artivists” in marginalized communities to empower their voices in the freedom movement.

"Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are."
